France outshone against Croatia to lift the heaviest trophy

  • The most dramatic tournament of Football finally came to end as France beat Croatia by 4-2 in a historic final of FIFA World Cup 2018.

Few new heroes emerge for the French side as the team repeated history after 20 years. Under Didier Deschamps’s guidance, France won against one of the top-rated teams of this world which include- Argentina, Uruguay, Belgium, and Croatia in the knockout stages. Despite winning all the matches at their group and knockout stages, Croatia faced an unfortunate defeat in the final.

Croatians were great at ball possession while France was playing with intelligence. The scenario became more clear when France scored its first goal in the 18th minute as Croatian Mario Mandžukić’s deflects the ball into an own goal.

France lead by 1-0 for 10 minutes as Ivan Perišić scored a stunner in the 28th minute. Scores were level for 10 more minutes as a deliberate handball by Perišić gave France a penalty kick which was later turned into a goal by Antoine Griezmann.

Eventually, French defender  Lucas Hernandez was the only booked person in the first half. The first half ended up with France leading by 2-1 against the Croatian black horses.

The second half was the only chance for Croatia to set up a remarkable comeback against the Frenchmen but the heroics of Kylian Mbappé and Paul Pogba were yet to be seen.

France win
Oui, oui, oui!

Croatia created some chances to level the scores but everything went in vain as Paul Pogba scored a screamer in the 59th minute. It was the only time when Croatia could have done something to get back into the match but the 19-year old Mbappé scored his dream goal in the 65th minute.

Croatia worked really hard to get back into a match but couldn’t get any further. Mario Mandžukić scored a goal in the 69th minute but the remaining 25 minutes were never enough for the Croatians.
